Configure AbanteCart Store URLs for HTTPS

Published

AbanteCartSSL

AbanteCart’s store URL settings tell the application which addresses to generate. They do not install a server certificate or prove that every public request uses HTTPS. Prepare the certificate first, then change the intended store’s URLs deliberately.

Prepare the store

Back up the database and configuration, confirm your AbanteCart version and identify the store you are editing. For a multi-store installation, record each hostname and any subdirectory. Verify trusted HTTPS on the intended public address before changing settings. Keep administrator recovery access.

Set the correct addresses

  1. Open System > Settings and select the intended store. Some releases group the fields under Store Details.
  2. Review Store URL and Secure Store URL. For an HTTPS-only storefront, use the correct full HTTPS address, preserving any installation path and the required trailing slash.
  3. Do not confuse a version’s old SSL toggle with certificate issuance. Use the fields supported by your installed version rather than adding undocumented configuration values.
  4. Save, clear only relevant application caches and check the generated storefront/admin links.

Test the business workflow

Test navigation, media, login, basket, checkout and provider-approved payment tests. Review callbacks, feeds and extensions for hardcoded HTTP addresses. Verify HTTP redirects separately and check for proxy-related loops. Changing one store must not break another domain or subdirectory in the same installation.

Monitor certificate expiry and renewal. Do not use a public key-generation website for a production private key, and do not assume HTTPS guarantees rankings or full application security.
