Mobile app development · Uganda

Useful apps for the moments your customers need you.

Plan Android and iOS apps around the people who will use them. GICT helps shape a focused first release, connect the right services and prepare for the work that comes after launch.

For customers, field teams and the people behind your service.

A clear reason to install

Start with a task worth making easier.

A mobile app should give people a useful reason to come back. We begin with a customer need or a team workflow, then decide which parts belong on a phone and which should stay on the web or in an existing system.

The result is a product plan grounded in real users, local connectivity and the services your business can support.

What we can shape

Mobile experiences with a job to do.

Start with a focused workflow. Add capabilities when they improve the experience or make the service easier to operate.

01

Customer services

Give customers a convenient way to book, request, track or manage a service.

Booking · delivery · self-service
02

Field teams

Help people working away from a desk capture information and keep work moving.

Inspections · forms · job updates
03

Commerce & loyalty

Connect discovery, ordering and customer updates in a useful mobile journey.

Catalogues · orders · rewards
04

Internal operations

Put the daily tools your team needs into a focused, role-based experience.

Approvals · dashboards · workflows

Plan for real conditions

The details that make an app dependable.

Good mobile delivery considers more than the screens. We agree how the product behaves, what it connects to and who will look after it.

01

Sign-in and user roles

Decide who can use the app, what they can see and how account recovery should work.

02

Offline and sync behaviour

Plan what happens when a connection is slow or unavailable, then sync changes safely.

03

Notifications and location

Use push alerts, maps or device features when they make a task clearer and more timely.

04

Payments and integrations

Connect approved services and APIs with clear ownership for data, credentials and support.

Choose the right shape

Native app, shared build or mobile web?

We recommend an approach based on your users and the work the product must do. Not every mobile idea needs two store listings.

01 / WEB

Mobile website

Best when people need to find you through search, share a link or complete a simple task without installing anything.

02 / SHARED CODE

Cross-platform app

A practical route to Android and iOS from a shared product build, when the experience and device needs are similar.

03 / PLATFORM SPECIFIC

Native apps

Useful when the product depends on deeper device features, platform-specific behaviour or advanced performance needs.

How a project moves

A visible path from idea to release.

We keep scope, decisions and next steps clear as the product takes shape.

  1. 01

Discover the job to be done

Understand the users, their environment and the task the app needs to make easier.

  2. 02

    Shape a focused first release

Agree the essential screens, data, integrations and success measures before development.

  3. 03

Build and test with real devices

Review the experience on target phones, test key journeys and resolve issues before release.

  4. 04

    Prepare launch and ongoing care

Plan store accounts, privacy details, release steps, updates and the support your app will need.

Ready for the next update

Launch is a milestone. Care keeps the app useful.

Store policies, operating system changes, security fixes and user feedback continue after version one. We plan a handover and support path while the app is being scoped.

Questions

Before you start an app project.

How much does mobile app development cost?

Cost depends on screens, user roles, integrations, offline behaviour and the platforms you need. We review the idea first, then agree a written scope and estimate before development.

Should we build for Android, iOS or both?

We look at who will use the app, the devices they already have and the first release budget. A shared cross-platform build can cover both stores, while some products benefit from a native approach.

Can you publish the app to Google Play and the App Store?

Store preparation and submission can be included in a scoped project. Your organization should own the developer accounts, and store approval is decided by each platform.

Do we need an app if our website works on mobile?

Not always. A responsive website or progressive web app may be simpler to discover and maintain. A native app is useful when repeat use, device features or offline work justify the extra commitment.

What happens after launch?

Apps need compatibility updates, monitoring and a clear way to address user feedback. We define who handles releases, infrastructure and maintenance before handover.

Start with the user

Tell us what should be easier on a phone.

Share who the app is for, what they need to do and any systems it should connect to. We will help you find a practical first release.
