Change Webuzo Passwords Without Confusing Panel and Service Accounts
Published
Before changing a Webuzo password, identify which credential you mean: the end-user panel, a mailbox, a database user or a separate application. A screen containing several password tools does not make their effects interchangeable.
Change the end-user panel password
Use the trusted Webuzo HTTPS address and open Security > Change Password where available. Confirm the account, enter and confirm a long unique password that meets the configured requirements, and save it securely. Reconnect to the intended account to verify the change.
Keep legacy service fields separate
The older Bread Basket Change Password page is consolidated here. It also described separate File Manager and Apache Tomcat Manager passwords; another version showed a MySQL root field. Those are historical, installation-specific controls, not a promise that current Webuzo has all of them or that they should all be changed together.
- For a separate File Manager or Tomcat credential, check that service’s current authentication source and dependent integrations before changing it.
- For database credentials, identify the exact database user and applications that use it. A database root password reset is not the same as changing the panel login and can disrupt management tools.
- For mailbox credentials, use the mailbox’s email-management workflow instead.
Verify without exposing secrets
Check affected login paths and authorized clients after a scoped change. Keep new passwords out of terminal command arguments, screenshots and public comments. If you cannot log in, use the host’s authenticated recovery process rather than an unverified public reset script or an old installation log.
