InterServer Refunds: A Clear Guide for Our Customers
Whether you’re just joining the InterServer family or you’ve been hosting with us for years, we know that clarity is key—especially when it involves your money. We believe in being upfront about our policies so you can make informed decisions without any guesswork.
Here is a straightforward breakdown of how our refunds work, which services are covered, and the timelines you can expect.
The 30-Day Money-Back Guarantee
If you are signing up for a standard web hosting package, you have a 30-day safety net. This guarantee applies to our Standard, Windows, Boost (2/4/X), and WordPress packages.
We want you to be completely satisfied with your experience. If you find that our hosting isn’t the right fit for your project, simply request a refund within 30 days of your sign-up date. As long as you cancel within that window, we will return the full amount you paid for the hosting service.
Dedicated Servers, VPS, and Custom Services
For services that require custom configurations or manual setup—like Dedicated Servers, Colocation, VPS, licensing, and IP Transit—the refund process is a little different because of the resources involved.
- Before Provisioning: If you change your mind before we have actually started building or “provisioning” your service, we will gladly issue a full refund. If the work hasn’t started, the refund option is always on the table.
- After Provisioning: Once the service has been set up and turned over to you, we can no longer offer a refund.
Why the difference? Unlike standard hosting, dedicated servers and colocation spaces are built to your specific requirements. Because of the specialized labor and hardware allocation required to get these services live, they do not fall under a 14-day cooling-off period once the setup process has begun.
Refund Timelines and Payment Rules
When we issue a refund, there are a few industry-standard rules we have to follow, as well as specific timelines for your money to return to you:
- Credit Card Processing Time: Once we process a refund on our end, it typically takes 3 to 5 business days to show up on your statement. We recommend contacting your bank or credit card provider to see how long their specific processing times are, as every institution varies.
- Original Payment Method: To protect against fraud, all refunds must be sent back to the exact same payment method you used for the purchase. For example, we cannot send a refund to a different card than the one originally charged.
- Processor Limits: Payment processors like PayPal and major credit card companies usually enforce a strict 120-day limit from the date of the charge.
- Billing Disputes: If you spot a discrepancy or have a question about a charge, please reach out to our team within 4 months so we can investigate and fix the issue for you.
We’re Here to Support You
While these guidelines cover most situations, we know that life doesn’t always go according to plan. If you have a unique circumstance or a question about your specific account, please reach out to our support team. We are always happy to review individual cases and help you find a solution, keeping in mind the technical limits set by our payment processors.
