Where to Find InterServer Status, Maintenance, and Incident Updates

Here is everything you need to know about how we communicate status, maintenance, and incidents.

At InterServer, we know that your website or application is your priority. We want to be as transparent as possible about how we keep our hardware running and how we communicate with you when things change.

Where to Find Updates

We use Atlassian Status to host our official status dashboard. This page is hosted on a completely separate network. This means even if there is a major internet or data center disruption, the status page will stay online to keep you informed. You can check it anytime here:

Our Approach to Maintenance

You might wonder why we perform maintenance in the first place. Think of it like preventative medicine for a server. We look for “yellow flags”—like a hard drive that is starting to show errors or RAM that isn’t performing at 100%.

Why we do it: If we wait for these components to fail completely, it can lead to a sudden crash or, worse, permanent data loss. By swapping out a failing part during a scheduled window, we prevent a small issue from becoming a major disaster.

  • No-Downtime Priority: If it is possible to perform an update or fix a part without taking your service offline, we will always choose that option first.
  • Timing Estimates: When we schedule maintenance, we provide a window for how long it will take. Please keep in mind that these are best-guess estimations. Because we are working with physical hardware and complex data, unexpected variables can sometimes make the process take longer than we initially planned.

Scheduled Maintenance vs. Emergency Incidents

The status page breaks updates down into two main categories:

1. Scheduled Maintenance

This is planned upkeep. We send out notices in advance so you can prepare. This covers things like security patches, hardware upgrades, and moving accounts to newer, faster equipment.

2. Unscheduled Incidents

If a server goes down unexpectedly, we create an “Incident” report. These situations move fast, so we update the status page in real-time. You will see the status move from Investigating to Identified to Monitoring and finally to Resolved.

How to Stay Informed

You don’t have to keep refreshing the status page to know what’s going on. We recommend clicking the “Subscribe to Updates” button on the status page to receive alerts:

  • Email: We generally send email notices for future scheduled maintenance so you have time to plan.
  • SMS/Status Page: For emergency maintenance or sudden outages, things move too quickly for a standard email blast. In these cases, we post immediately to the status page and send alerts to SMS subscribers.
Account services are unavailable until the production backend is configured.
