Move a FastComet Website to InterServer
Published
Moving a FastComet website to InterServer starts with choosing the export you need: an entire compatible cPanel account or just one website and its database. Confirm the destination restore format and any account-size restrictions before creating an archive.
Complimentary migration eligibility: InterServer provides migrations for web hosting plans only, limited to cPanel-to-cPanel and DirectAdmin-to-DirectAdmin. VPS and dedicated-server migrations are not offered. Cross-panel transfers and website-builder conversions are outside this service; the manual instructions below are for self-managed moves when the matching-panel web hosting requirements are not met.
Check FastComet’s backup tools
Sign in through the FastComet client area and open cPanel for the correct hosting account. FastComet’s Backup Manager documentation describes full-account, files, database, email and certificate options, plus a queue for following tasks. Those entries are distinct components: a database download alone is not a working website, and a restore action changes data on the source service.
Check the available date and contents before requesting an export. If the interface does not offer a suitable download, ask FastComet support for the required export format. Do not select Restore just to obtain a copy. An older backup can omit new orders, uploads or mail.
Create a full cPanel archive when supported
- Open cPanel’s Backup or Backup Wizard feature if enabled for the source account.
- Choose Full Backup and a home-directory destination outside every public web root. Start generation and wait for it to finish.
- Download the completed archive through authenticated access and keep the original format intact for the destination provider.
The cPanel migration guide explains the full-account restore requirement. A manually compressed ZIP of website files is not a substitute for a supported account archive. Never publish an account backup under public_html.
Export one website manually
Download its files using authenticated File Manager access, SFTP or FTPS where enabled. Include hidden files and application data outside the document root. Export the matching database separately through phpMyAdmin or a version-compatible database tool. Keep a list of scheduled tasks, runtime settings, external storage and mail services that also need attention.
Arrange destination restoration and testing
Open a ticket in the InterServer customer portal with the FastComet account’s panel, destination service, domains, export format and mail scope. Confirm the migration support eligibility and private delivery method. FastComet’s service for migrations into FastComet should not be treated as a promise to migrate the site out to another provider.
Restore to the agreed destination, update database credentials and preview with the real hostname. Check application login, forms and database-backed pages; keep testing from sending duplicate customer messages or processing payments. Arrange a final synchronization for new data, change the required DNS records and retain the source hosting until verification is complete.
