We will cover all three sections in detail. So, Let’s get started with the first one.

Design System

Fonts and colors are few of the most important factors in the overall design of the website. Fonts and colors varies with the fundamental understanding of the nature of business and the customers/visitors. For example, You will notice that the news websites and magazines ususally use serif fonts while the SaaS and similar companies use sans-serif fonts to represent the website.

Similarly, colors play an important role in user experience as well as the kind of business you are in. With the help of Design System in Elementor, You can pre-define and update the global fonts and global colors in minutes. First of all, Let’s take a look at Global Colors.

-> Global Colors

Color scheme of the website is very important. The colors on your website should be consistent to create a good user experience. Elementor allows you to pre-define and update the global colors on your site. It also allows you to modify the colors on your website in seconds.

To set or update the global colors, click on the “Global colors” option from Design system. It will show you the list of global colors set for your site. If you want to add more colors, you can click on +ADD COLORS button. If you don’t want any additional global color, You can update the global colors for Primary, secondary, text and accent as per your requirement. The global colors section should look like the following image.

Set global colors in Elementor

So, this is how you can add and manage global colors of your site using Elementor. Now, Let’s see how to manage global fonts in Elementor.

-> Global Fonts

Fonts are as important as colors. Each and every website has different type of customers and purpose for the customers or visitors. The perfect font selection can make a huge difference. You also have to make sure that the fonts you are using are light weight so that they can load faster.

One additional good feature the Elementor provides is, the fallback fonts. Fallback fonts are the fonts that can be used if the original selection of the fonts does not work due to some exception. So, make sure that your fallback fonts have the same type as your original fonts.

The global fonts management in Elementor should look like the following image. Just like the global colors, You can also set the Global fonts for Primary, Secondary, Text and Accent.

How to manage global fonts in Elementor

When you click on the “Edit” button marked with the Pencil icon, You will see a full panel that will allow you to set all the properties of the fonts. Theme Style

The second setting is the Theme Style. With the help of this setting, you can manage the style and theme for Heading Text, Buttons, Images, and Form Fields. The following image shows all the fields for Theme Style Setting. Let’s see each setting in Brief.

How to manage theme style in Elementor

In this section, we will learn how to customize the look of all the basic things any website requires. The first and the most important thing is Typography, Let’s start with it.

-> Typography

Typography is the art and technique of arranging type to make written language legible, readable and appealing when displayed.

The definition of typography makes it easier to understand what we are going to edit and update in the Typography section of the Theme style. We have to make sure that the colors, size of headings, fonts for headings, fonts for text, and all the small things that makes the difference are perfect.

Click on the Typography section and you should see a new section just like the following image.

How to manage typography in Elementor

From this section, you can update the typography of the body text, link, and all the headings. See the Globe icon with Colorbox and Edit Icon in front of every text setting. From that color box, you can Directly Assign color and from the Edit button, you can apply Font settings like font type and size, etc.

But from the Global icon, you can assign the default settings which are already set on the Design system as Primary, Secondary, etc. Choose the setting which you already created. So the content type will automatically inherit the settings like color and font settings. You just need to choose the type of content. You can do it to all the text types available on your website.

-> Buttons

Click on the Buttons tab to see the settings for Button elements. There are several types of settings like Typography, Text Shadow, Text Color, Background Color, Box Shadow, Border Type, etc. All of these settings are very important for buttons.

Now there’s also a Global icon in front of every setting. Click on the Global icon to choose Fonts for the button Element which we already chose on Global Fonts. You can also choose fonts from the Edit Button.

How to manage button style in Elementor

You can also change text color, global color, or choose the color from Colorbox. You can set border radius and padding for the Button Element. Managing the style of the button is easier when you manage it from this section. If you will set the design of the button every time you create a new button, It will quickly become very labor intensive when you decide to change the button style anytime in future.

-> Images

Managing style for all the images on the website from just one set of options and settings does not feel right. Image is a kind of element that requires different styling depending on where we are using an image and in which context we are using an image.

Still, If you want to define some basic settings for all the images you will upload on your site, You can do it from this set of options. From this section, you will be able to define things like Border type, border radius, Opacity, Box shadow and CSS filters. You can also set the default hover properties for images.

-> Form Fields

The look and usability of the forms on your website is cruicial. Your forms and form fields should look clean and easy to use. It is recommended to pre-define the styling of the Form fields from this set of options. And, It is also recommended not to update the styling of form fields individually unless it is very important to do so.

Let’s see what options do we have to pre-define the styling of form fields.

How to manage the styling of Form fields in Elementor

So, you can update color and typography for Label. And, you can update typography, Text color, Background color, Box shadow, and border settings for the actual form field. You can also set different styling for when the form field is in focus. It is good to manage all the form field styling from this set of options to maintain the consistency throughout the website.

Settings

This is the third and last section under the website settings. In this section, we will learn things like managing Site Identity, Background, Layout, Lightbox, custom css and additional settings.

We will cover the first four options from this sectionin detail and those are some of the most important settings available in Elementor to efficiently manage your website. So, Let’s get started with the Site identity settings.

The layout is basically the overall structure of the website. Within this set of options, You will have to select How much content width you want to set, How much space do you want between widgets, Page title selection, width of the stretched sections and much more.

You can also set the Default Page layout according to your requirements. Other than that, there is not much you can do in this section as there are different types of pages on any kind of website.

-> Lightbox

Lightbox means the Preview feature for the image. If you turn on the Lightbox feature, All the images on the site will have a preview feature. Whenever someone will click on an image, the bigger version of the image will appear in a bigger pop-up like section.

You can also turn ON or OFF other settings like Counter, Fullscreen, Zoom, Share from this part of the website settings. You can also change Background Color, UI Color, UI Hover Color, Text Color just as we mentioned earlier. You can choose a color from ColorBox or you can apply Global Color or Global Text here.
